Dr. Tom

Dear Bobcats:

On behalf of the entire Celina ISD team, we are excited to welcome all our Bobcats tomorrow, Wednesday, August 16! If you are new to Celina, welcome to #BobcatNation. You have chosen to bring your children to a destination district rich with tradition and with a commitment to the principles of Community, Excellence, Innovation, Leadership, and Stewardship.

CISD’s principles serve as the foundation for all we do, or what we proudly refer to as Wearing the “C”! Whether on a t-shirt, uniform, or the window of a family car, the Celina “C” represents the gifts and talents of each and every Bobcat. In the classroom and in the myriad of opportunities available for our Bobcats to connect with one another, Wearing the “C” is as emblematic of each person’s unique gifts and talents as it is of the power of our collective gifts. A hallmark of our district is the uplifting, positive, and collaborative environment we have created that supports the growth of each Bobcat so that every student can reach his or her full potential. When we see the gifts in ourselves, in each other, and as a whole #BobcatNation, the pride for Wearing the “C” becomes contagious!

We have over 500 new students joining us this year, so thank you ahead of time for your patience this week as we get accustomed to a new school (Welcome Martin ES Bobcats!), new traffic patterns, new safety protocols, and of course more students than ever before in the history of Celina ISD. These first days of school especially, let’s all remember that school buses are operating their first routes with students across the 97 square miles our district serves while we all negotiate the long carpool lines and full parking lots that are customary these first days. Tomorrow is an exciting day for all, and it’s a great day for each of us to show what it means to Wear the “C”!

Throughout this school year, I look forward to meeting and strengthening relationships with our students, staff and you–our parents! We have many opportunities for parents to get involved via the district and campus Parent Teacher Associations, various CISD booster clubs, Bobcat Moms, and the Quarterback Club. And if you see an area of need, or somewhere where your own gifts and talents can be of service, please let us know. One opportunity we’re very excited to launch is a student mentoring program called “Partners in Education.” We welcome community members and parents interested in connecting with students eager to benefit from a mentor who encourages and guides the student throughout the school year. Regardless of where your interest or availability can support our schools, your presence is welcome wherever you feel like you too can “Wear the “C.” I know this will be our best school year yet!

Go Bobcats!
