Welding Rodeo

Celina Independent School District's Future Farmers of America (FFA) hosted the highly anticipated 3rd Annual Celina Welding Rodeo Build-off on Friday, May 10th. This thrilling event brought together twenty teams representing 15 school districts, all vying for top honors in a test of skill and teamwork. The challenge? To construct an oversized Rocket Stove within a tight timeframe of 4.5 hours.

A key element to the event's success was the generous support of sponsors who rallied behind the initiative. Among them were Claycomb Associates Architects, Northstar Builders Group, FCS Construction, Mitchell Welding, TEXO, Kolache Shoppe, and Brookshire’s.

The judging panel, comprised of experts from Collin College Welding and Humphrey & Associates, brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to the competition. Additionally, Accurate Automatic Machining Corporation went above and beyond by cooking lunch for contestants and staff.

Following an intense display of craftsmanship and teamwork, three standout teams emerged victorious:

1st Place - Bland ISD - FFA

2nd Place- Van Alstyne ISD - FFA

3rd Place - Lewisville ISD TECC - West Welding

We extended congratulations to all participating teams for their hard work. Special appreciation goes to our agricultural and welding teachers whose guidance and support were instrumental in preparing the students for this exciting challenge.
