Principal's Message

Sallye Norris

I am so excited and proud to be Martin's first principal. I have done a lot of thinking and praying about the upcoming year and can not wait to partner with you to create an amazing learning space for our kids!

I've been an educator for over 20 years, as a classroom and art teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. I stepped out of education for a few years to run the children's ministries of a church, but quickly figured out I needed kids around me on a daily basis, so I returned to the classroom. I am blessed to be living my purpose of making a difference for children and teachers.

Our Martin vision is to inspire, equip, empower people who will lead the way to a better world. I truly believe we have to be the change we want to see in the world. We can't wait for others to make things better...it is up to us! Through problem solving, collaboration, and creativity, we can impact the world, both near and far, in big ways!

Personally, I have been married to my husband, Stuart, for over 27 years. We have two amazing kids. Sam is a graduate of Texas A&M. He is a pedal steel guitar player who lives in Austin. He plays with several artists, including the Ellis Bullard Band. Callie recently graduated from Oklahoma State and works as a vet tech at a clinic in Stillwater. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 chickens. I love to knit, bake, and do crafts.

In the movie, Air, Sonny Vaccaro of Nike, said "A shoe is just a shoe until someone steps into it." The same is true with schools. The school is just a building until it is filled with teachers and students. At that point, it comes alive! I am so looking forward to serving you, your student, our teachers, and this community. It is truly an honor!

In Partnership,
