2024-25 Elementary Attendance Boundary Update

Celina ISD is currently experiencing exponential growth throughout the district. With the opening of Bothwell Elementary in the fall of 2024, Lykins Elementary will experience relief from the overcrowding currently impacting the campus. Although Elementary #5 will provide relief for both Martin and O’Dell Elementaries, the 2024-25 projected enrollment for O'Dell represents an enrollment 22% over the functional capacity of the school facility. These numbers will place an enormous burden on the learning environment at O’Dell and impact the services we are able to provide for all students.

Given that the campus projection accounts for families who had not yet moved into the current O’Dell attendance zone as of January 2024, our district proactively initiated a plan for overflow from O’Dell to Martin Elementary until the opening of Elementary #5.

Effective Monday, February 5, 2024, the following attendance boundary map will be in effect for the 2024-25 school year:

  • Bothwell and Lykins Elementaries, will continue to utilize the Board approved attendance boundaries for 2024-2025 school year;

  • Students currently enrolled at O’Dell Elementary school who reside within the projected Elementary #5 attendance zone will remain enrolled at O’Dell until the opening of Elementary #5.

  • To assist with the overflow necessary from O’Dell, any student new to Celina ISD moving into the Elementary #5 attendance zone, will be enrolled at Martin Elementary until the opening of Elementary #5 in the Fall of 2025.
