Superintendent

Dr. Tom Maglisceau was unanimously appointed Superintendent of Schools by the Celina ISD Board of Trustees in 2019. With more than 29 years in public education, Dr. Tom brings a wealth of experience to Celina ISD and is known as a visionary leader who focuses on excellence and innovation. Teachers, staff and parents often say he ​is a compassionate leader who includes the community, as well as students, in the educational process. Prior to joining CISD, Dr. Tom served as a teacher, coach, dean of instruction, assistant principal, principal and assistant superintendent in Dallas area school districts including Highland Park, Dallas and Rockwall ISDs. Dr. Tom received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Texas Christian University and his doctorate from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Senior Chief of Academics & Employee Services

Dr. Jason Johnston was the Executive Principal of Allen High School from 2016-2020, and most recently served as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources & Employee Services for Allen ISD. During his 25-year career in education, he has served as an administrator, teacher, and coach at both the high school and middle school levels. While serving as a middle school principal, he was awarded the H-E-B Excellence in Education Texas Secondary School Principal of the year. Jason received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of North Texas and both his Master's and Doctorate degrees in Educational Administration from Texas A&M Commerce University. Dr. Johnston believes the key to any successful organization, whether that of a school, business or a family, lies in the ability of the leaders to equip, empower, and encourage the individuals they serve.

Chief Operations Officer

With 30 years of educational experience, Dr. John Mathews has served Celina ISD for 11 years. John first joined the district as principal of Celina Middle School and served in that role for the three years. In 2017, he was appointed assistant superintendent. Throughout his years in education, John has been a biology, chemistry and math teacher, as well as assistant principal, principal and coordinator of student services. John received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Dallas in Biology, earned two Master of Arts degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary in Biblical Studies and Christian Education. Additionally, he earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.

Chief Technology Officer

As the Chief Technology Officer for Celina ISD, Zach has built a reputation as an EdTech visionary. He leads by communication and collaboration through the design and implementation of many technology initiatives. He cultivates trust, accountability and high performance in all aspects. He has worked in all areas of K-12 technology across three school districts for nearly 20 years, with five of those years in leadership positions. Zach is a West Texas A&M graduate with a Bachelors in Business.

As a leader in integrated strategic communications, Karen has more than 25 years experience. She has led the launch of companies, as well as redesign communication departments in school districts resulting in improved parent and community involvement. Karen received her Bachelor of Arts in journalism and public relations with a minor in marketing from the University of North Texas and a Master of Science in strategic communication with a focus on organizational transformational change and leadership development. Currently, she is working on her doctorate in Educational Leadership and superintendent certification from Lamar University.
