Kristen Aune

During the Celina Independent School District’s January School Board meeting, the district announced Kristen Aune will serve as Elementary #4 principal. Elementary #4, which will receive its formal name at the February CISD Regular Board Meeting, will open next fall for the 2024-25 school year.

“The opportunity to contribute my experience and enthusiasm to the establishment of a new elementary school in Celina is truly exciting,” Aune said. “My role as assistant principal at Lykins Elementary School has deepened my appreciation for our district’s commitment to excellence. As Principal, my focus will be on creating a safe, productive learning environment that supports the whole child and cultivates future-ready learners. I am dedicated to building strong relationships with the staff members, students, parents, and community members.”

Prior to the Board naming Aune as Principal, she served as the assistant principal at Lykins Elementary School, and as a middle school assistant principal and teacher in Frisco ISD since 2005. While serving as the assistant principal at Lykins, Aune received Celina ISD’s Leader of the Year award, for which she was nominated by her colleagues, parents, and community. She was also named to the district’s Assistant Principal Leadership program, a leadership program for aspiring school leaders in partnership with other local districts. In 2023, Aune was also awarded a PTA Lifetime membership for her commitment to PTA and her service to students and families.

Celina ISD Superintendent, Dr. Tom Maglisceau, said, “Kristen Aune and her family have been proud residents of Celina since 2016, with three children attending school in CISD. Kristen and her husband Jason are very well known for their commitment to our community and our schools, and her children are engaged in school and community activities. Kristen has been a blessing for the Lykins community, guiding their academic, social, and emotional growth while helping them gain the essential skills for their success. With many of the Lykins students and families shifting this fall to ES #4 in the Cambridge Crossing neighborhood, Kristen will be there to welcome and support them as they work together to build a new school community.”
