Celina Independent School District proudly announces the appointment of Julie Ricketts as the inaugural Assistant Principal at Tommie Dobie Bothwell Elementary School, effective July 1. Ricketts brings a wealth of experience and commitment to fostering academic excellence and cultivating a positive learning environment.

Ricketts has served as the Assistant Principal at Anderson Elementary in Frisco ISD since June 2023, demonstrating exceptional skills in curriculum development, staff supervision, and student engagement strategies. Her commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement has been evident through the implementation of innovative educational initiatives.
During her tenure at Anderson Elementary, Ricketts spearheaded various initiatives aimed at enhancing student success and well-being. She coordinated the implementation of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework, optimizing academic and behavioral support for all students and significantly improving success rates. Additionally, Ricketts led the school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, establishing and reinforcing behavioral expectations to create a positive school and classroom culture.
Prior to her role as Assistant Principal, Ricketts served as an instructional coach for four years in Frisco ISD, collaborating with teachers to enhance educational outcomes for students. Additionally, she served as a K-5 math curriculum writer and held the position of District Training Co-Facilitator focusing on teacher development in the areas of math. Ricketts served as a classroom teacher for 20 years, during which she received the Teacher of the Year award at the campuses she served in the 2011-12 and 2017-18 school years, underscoring her commitment to excellence. While as a classroom teacher, she taught various grade levels with a focus on math, science, and writing.
